EcoVadis
Deblick strives to operate as sustainably as possible in the areas of Environment,Labor and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
In order to obtain an objective assessment and thus improve our performance in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we have been working with EcoVadis since 2020.
Deblick
Deblick has been based in Eindhoven Netherlands since its founding in 2008. From day one, Deblick has been doing everything possible to minimize the company's environmental impact. For example, we work with sustainable materials from carefully chosen suppliers who care about the world we live on just as much as we do.
Reusing raw materials is also central to Deblick's production process.
So this applies both to raw materials and also to what is possible with our products once they have reached the end of their lifespan. Sustainability is also reflected in the lifespan of our products; the longer they last, the better the CO2 footprint. So quality comes first.
In our view, sustainable production also includes buying locally produced raw materials. In this way, we save as many non-essential transport movements as possible. To monitor that only high-quality and sustainable materials are supplied, we work with certified raw materials and suppliers.
Raw materials
Aluminum
The aluminum processed by Deblick is made specifically for us a short distance from Eindhoven. We consciously choose to ensure that the Deblick profile consists of the highest possible percentage of recycled source material.
Wood
At Deblick, we take advantage of the opportunity to choose certified wood and board material. All wood used in our products is sourced from PEFC or FSC certified suppliers.
Upholstery
To give customers and designers as much freedom as possible in their choice of upholstery
we at Deblick have an extensive collection that we can incorporate into our
products. Of course these are all selected for sustainability, both the
specific upholstery as well as the manufacturer are thereby assessed in the selection process
.
Absorption materials
The choice of absorption material possible with Deblick allows the best results to be achieved with a natural source material or a source material produced with the maximum use of recycled resources.
Laws and regulations
It goes without saying that Deblick complies with all laws and regulations. Here the
principle is, he who does good meets good. If possible, we do not stop at the legal framework but continue to where we can take it.
CO2
All of Deblick's products are manufactured in Eindhoven. This choice,
combined with working with suppliers from the Netherlands or other European countries, ensures that we limit our CO2 footprint as much as possible.
However, it doesn't stop there; we are constantly looking for opportunities within our business operations to reduce CO2 consumption even further. From LED lighting with motion detectors to electric vehicles and from more efficient use of our machinery to limiting transport movements in the last kilometer.
Waste
Actually, as Deblick we have no waste from our production process, all of our
raw materials can almost without exception go straight back into the chain. Another advantage we make the best possible use of is that we customize many of our products for our customers. This allows us to minimize the amount of unused raw material.
From coffee residue to wood, we separate where possible and offer for recycling or return the residual stream back into the chain.
Packaging material receives particular attention in our waste stream. On the one hand, we are in constant dialogue with our suppliers to minimize it. On the other hand, we package our products ourselves in the least amount of packaging material possible, of the highest sustainability possible. In addition, if possible, we take back our
packaging material and reuse it as much as possible.
